POSITION INFO:
Company and Job Description: A privately owned South African industrial group specialising in the processing and supply of high-grade mineral products to local and international markets is looking for a Cost Accountant to join its finance team. With operations spanning multiple processing facilities, the business supplies major heavy-industry markets both locally and internationally. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys working close to operations and understands the commercial importance of accurate costing. Key Responsibilities: Manage and maintain accurate cost accounting records Analyse production costs, variances, margins, and cost drivers Prepare cost reports and provide financial insights to management Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Analyse manufacturing and operational expenditure Support month-end reporting and financial reconciliations Work closely with operational teams to identify cost-saving opportunities Assist with internal and external audit processes Ensure financial controls and accounting policies are maintained Job Experience and Skills Required: Qualifications: BCom Accounting, Finance, or related qualification Experience: Manufacturing or Mining experience essential Previous Cost Accounting experience essential Experience working in a fast-paced operational environment Some audit experience advantageous Exposure to production or processing environments highly advantageous Skills & Competencies: Strong cost accounting and financial analysis skills Advanced Microsoft Excel Strong numerical and analytical ability Excellent attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Commercially minded with a hands-on approach Why consider this opportunity?
