Cost Accountant

Costing:

• Bill of Materials:
• Management of costing system to ensure accuracy at all times
• Review cost requests to ensure accuracy
• Review monthly standard cost changes for reasonability
• Verify accuracy of costings versus process documents
• Cost differential exercises and related margin impact
• Material usage analysis and drive solutions to correct variances
• Play an integral part in cost analyses for customer increase negotiations
• Proactive, continuous review of entire costing system including production transfer points to ensure best accounting practice and efficient business operations

CAPEX:

• Manage Capex Applications
• Capex tracking versus budget and forecast spend
• Weekly capex spend update

APDP:

• Oversee timing, submission and audit
• Provide SARS audit documentation if require
• Oversee timing, submission and audit
• Provide SARS audit documentation if required

Management reporting:

• Monthly management accounts pack
• Margin analysis
• Slow moving and obsolete RM and FG stock report driving provision reductions
• Scrap analysis versus standard allowances

Government Grants

• Prepare applications for qualifying government grants
• Attend to all queries from applicable regulatory bodies.
• Track and finalised applicable grants to completion and collection of grants

Reporting

• Analyse and interpret Finance reports and statistical data
• Prepare financial reports and returns as required.
• Generate information and reports for internal and external use.
• Continuous Improvement
• Identify improvement opportunities and make recommendations for improvements

Minimum requirements:

• BCOM or National Diploma (Cost and Management Accounting) or equivalent
• Automotive manufacturing experience
