A reputable concern who specializes in the manufacturing of values and services clients in the power generation and water markets is looking for a Cost and Management Accountant to join their team. The concern actively participates in global markets allowing the successful candidate to gain multinational exposure.

JOB & COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The Cost and Management Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of management accounts, activity-based costing, standard costing, cost control and cost analysis. The Cost and Management Accountant will be responsible for the implementation of financial analysis, control, and reporting processes as well as monitoring and analyzing WIP. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and processing cost of sales and revenue transactions, accounting records relating to inventory and reconciliations of relevant accounts to the general ledger. The successful candidate will be responsible for the divisional income statements and reporting to executive management.

EDUCATION

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

BCom Cost and Management Accounting/BCom in Accounting
Completed CIMA/studying towards final level of CIMA

JOB EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

At least 4-5 years’ experience in a similar role
Experience managing/mentoring a junior
Experience in a complex manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of various costing models
Experience working with factory income statements
Comfortable working in a plant environment
Excellent Advanced Excel skills for the purpose of reporting
Self-starter and ability to work independently with little “hand holding”
Working knowledge of standard costing and implementing standard costing
Experience dealing with the reporting for multiple subsidiaries/business units
Experience in providing insight to the business regarding profitability
Strong analytical skills
