SUMMARY:
One of my clients in the manufacturing space that is based in Johannesburg East is currently seeking the expertise of a Cost and Management Accountant. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in the manufacturing industry.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications and Experience:

BCOM
3 – 5 years’ experience
Manufacturing industry experience (essential)
CIMA – Strategic Level (essential)
Excel advanced
Activity Based Costing, Standard Costing experience

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for the preparation of Management Accounts
Responsible for the provision of an analytical and advisory function to line management
Activity Based Costing, Standard Based Costing, Cost control, analysis (margin/ costs/productivity)
Responsible for the implementation of financial analysis control and reporting process
Prepares, examines and analyses accounting records relating to manufacturing including inventory, to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
Develops, maintains, and analyses budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs relating to manufacturing
Provides assistance to manufacturing relating to unresolved queries
Prepares and processes cost of sales and revenue transactions
Responsible for reconciliation of relevant accounts to the General ledger
Fixed Assets management
Ensures reconciliation of the fixed asset register to general ledger
Staff management
WIP monitoring and analysis
Accurate costing model to determine recommended price list
