SUMMARY:
Calling all Cost and Management Accountants in the Manufacturing Industry

POSITION INFO:

My client a leading and well known company in Epping Industria, Cape Town requires a comptent and experienced Cost Accountant to join their team.

Requirements:

Appropriate Formal tertiary Financial Qualification – CIMA / B.Com (Hons) or equivalent qualification as per the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) would be considered.

Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.

A broad knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) specific to the post in required.

Proven management skills

SAP ECC6 experience highly advantageous

Advanced knowledge and experience using financial modeling packages is essential (MS Excel and MS Access)

SA Citizens only

Must be Criminal clear

Must reside in the Greater Cape Town area

Brief job Functions

Management and control of site wide inventories:

All production related entries are processed in line with set deadlines

All inventories are correctly classified and correctly valued

All stock counts are verified and performed accurately

Integration master data in the ERP system is set up accurately

o Accurate and timeous reporting of all inventory valuations and variance analyses

Costing accounting:

Creation and maintenance of an annual product costing rate-map and application of these rates over the structures and routings / recipes in the ERP system

Accurate construction and representation of all inventory items (both materials and conversions) on the ERP System.

Measurement of monthly factory recoveries, material usage and labour efficiency variances and reprocessing cost to budget and forecast

Analysis and construction of product costings for new product development

Costing simulations to quantity process improvements

Assist Finance Manager and Finance Director with ad hoc projects

Reporting:

Data-mining and report construction to support business decisions and feasibility exercises.

Compilation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packs. These include sales, factory recoveries, variance analyses, reprocessing and inventory reports

Determination of the monthly FIFO requirement. IQV requirement and any other inventory related provisions

Project Costing:

Assistance with the control of costs pertaining to Engineering Projects and maintenance of established Capex Projects on the ERP system
