Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with strong costing expertise and experience in the mining sector? Our client, a well-established open-cast mining operation based in Roodepoort, is seeking a skilled Costing & Management Accountant to join their finance team.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Prepare and analyse product, operational, and project costing reports. Monitor and control mining production costs and identify cost-saving opportunities. Develop, review, and maintain budgets and forecasts. Perform variance analysis and provide actionable recommendations to management. Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports. Analyse operational performance indicators and profitability metrics. Support strategic decision-making through financial modelling and analysis. Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls. Assist with annual budgeting and audit processes. Work closely with operational managers to improve financial performance and cost efficiencies. Minimum Requirements Diploma or BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, Cost & Management Accounting, or a related field. 5-10 years' experience in a Costing or Management Accounting role. Essential: Experience within the mining sector , specifically open-cast mining operations . Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Advanced Excel skills. Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Advantageous CIMA qualification or studies towards CIMA. Experience in production costing and mine site reporting. Knowledge of mining operational processes and performance metrics.
