Country Operations Manager (EdTech start-up- Remote)

Our remarkable client in the EdTech sector requires a strong Country Operations Manager to head up operations in South Africa (Remote)

POSITION INFO:

Overview:

• Work closely with the CEO
• Involved in strategy, operations, business development, expansion and much more to drive long-term strategy and rapid growth.
• This is a great opportunity to join a fast-paced and rapidly growing company, drive meaningful projects, and operate within the executive levels of the organization to improve our client’s operations in South Africa.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand and align with the mission to deliver high-quality, affordable, and accessible education
• Manage and oversee all affairs in the office.
• Recruitment of subject matter experts and production personnel to serve the South African office
• Provide periodic reports to the team when necessary.
• Offer innovative solutions and ideas to aid expansion in South Africa.
• Ensure the safekeeping and adequate storage of all equipment and digital tools at your disposal.
• Ensure that all activities in the office occur as outlined in the operations handbook.
• Maintain and ensure the continuance of the work culture in the office under your management.
• Provide relevant data regarding developments in your country that may retard or promote the growth of the brand.
• Perform other duties as may be required.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in management and other related fields.
• Minimum of 3 years managing a team of creative and intellectual people.
• Candidate should be a self-starter, comfortable working with high autonomy in coordination with the CEO and VPs.
• Ideal candidate should be entrepreneurial in nature and comfortable with shaping their role to drive the highest impact for future revenue growth and learning outcome.
• Quick learner in a fast-paced environment and an appetite to take on a variety of tasks.
• Keen analytic, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and project management skills.
• Proven ability to distil complex information into clear, valuable insights for the business.
• Excellent communication, storytelling, writing and relationship-building skills, with an ability to navigate a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
• Self-starter that can manage projects end-to-end and deliver quality results with attention to detail.
• Experience in Africa/emerging markets
• Experience in an EdTech/start-up, and knowledge of the global EdTech space is an added advantage.
