POSITION INFO:
Company and Job Description:
A well-established and growing organisation is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join its Finance team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong collections experience and a proven ability to manage a large debtor’s book in a fast-paced commercial environment.

Reporting to the Financial Manager, you will take full operational responsibility for managing the debtor’s book, driving cash collections, minimising credit risk, and ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records. You will play a key role in supporting cash-flow management while maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
Credit Control & Debtors Management

Manage and maintain the full debtor’s book
Process invoices, credit notes, and journals
Perform debtor reconciliations and resolve allocation discrepancies
Maintain accurate debtor records within the ERP system
Manage credit limits in line with company policies

Collections & Cash Management

Drive collections across all accounts
Follow up on overdue invoices and resolve payment delays
Allocate payments and reconcile unallocated receipts
Assist with weekly cash-flow forecasting

Query & Dispute Resolution

Resolve customer queries professionally and efficiently
Liaise with Sales and Operations to resolve disputes
Follow up on outstanding documentation such as PODs

Credit Risk Management

Monitor and manage credit risk exposure
Work with credit insurance where applicable
Escalate high-risk accounts appropriately

Reporting & Administration

Maintain accurate audit trails and system notes
Support month-end processes
Identify and improve inefficiencies in credit control processes

Job Experience and Skills Required:
Grade 12 (essential)
Credit Management or Accounting qualification (advantageous)
5 - 7 years’ experience in credit control within a commercial environment
Proven experience managing a large debtor’s book
Strong collections, reconciliations, and dispute resolution experience
Experience with ERP systems (MS Business Central or similar preferred)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
