SUMMARY:
A leading fashion retailer in Durban is in search of a Customs Quality Control Specialist – National to join their team.

POSITION INFO:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring customs compliance, processing statutory documentation, auditing products against customs requirements, and maintaining quality management standards within a fast-paced import and logistics environment.

Key Requirements

Strong knowledge of Customs and Excise Act
Knowledge of tariffing and principles of duty calculation
Understanding of international trade principles and INCO Terms
Knowledge of commercial, transport, carrier, depot, and statutory body documentation
Computer literate with strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and perform well under pressure
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Adaptable within a constantly changing environment

Minimal Requirements

Grade 12 Certificate
1-year customs related qualification at NQF Level 3
10 years’ import/customs experience within the Clearing & Forwarding industry
Minimum 5 years’ experience in customs framing entry capacity
Knowledge of national currencies and international codes
Experience auditing products against customs and statutory body requirements
Ability to comply with quality management systems
