Barefoot Cyber is a specialist cyber security business. We protect our clients by doing one thing well: cyber security. This internship is for people who want to build a career in this field specifically, not a general IT career with cyber security as an afterthought.

The programme runs for 12 months and is structured across three phases. In the first 12 weeks you will rotate across a broad range of cyber security functions, giving you hands-on exposure before you select a specialism to focus on for the remainder of the programme. The goal is to set you up for a permanent role in our security team.

This is an office-based position at our Century City office. You will work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to real client engagements from early in the programme.

POSITION INFO:
Programme Structure Phase 1 (weeks 1-12) covers structured learning across three tracks: practical skills including Hack the Box and Capture the Flag exercises; e-learning covering cloud fundamentals, endpoint protection, network security and vulnerability management; and on-the-job training in detection and response, managed services, project management and reconnaissance. Phase 2 sees you select a specialism within our security operations team. Available tracks include Security Analyst, Penetration Testing, Security Consulting, DevSecOps, Pre-sales Engineering and Systems Engineering. You will contribute directly to client work during this phase. Phase 3 is the transition to a permanent position within the team, either in-house or embedded on client sites. What We're Looking For We are looking for candidates who have already demonstrated a genuine, self-directed interest in cyber security before applying. The evidence we want to see is your own initiative: certifications or training completed in your own time through platforms such as TryHackMe, Hack the Box, Udemy or similar. Formal qualifications in IT or a related field are useful but not sufficient on their own. What matters is that cyber security is where you want to specialise, not just a door into a broader IT career. You will need to demonstrate: Evidence of self-directed learning in cyber security (certificates, completed courses or platform progress, e.g. TryHackMe rooms, Udemy courses, CTF participation) A clear, stated intention to build a career specifically in cyber security Curiosity and a willingness to learn in a hands-on environment The ability to work professionally in a client-facing business Applications Send your CV and cover letter to .
