DATA ENGINEER SPECIALIST

ROLE PROFILE / LOCATION: A Permanent Specialist Level Position in the Financial Services Industry based in Johannesburg (N Suburbs), Gauteng. REMUNERATION DATA: R620, 000.00 – R650, 000.00 PA Total Cost to Company Including Standard Corporate Benefits & Incentives

POSITION INFO:

JOB SUMMARY: My client is in search of a suitably qualified and experienced individual to assume the above-mentioned role within their organisation. The successful incumbent will work closely with internal and external stakeholders in effectively collecting, analysing, interpreting, presenting and managing of quality data and delivering first time resolutions on enquiries for the Group. Responsibilities will include: -

·            Performing complex data analysis in support of ad-hoc and on-going requests in terms of data

·            quality

·            Developing methodologies for analysing and presenting data to business

·            Cleaning, aggregating and organising data from disparate sources and transferring this data into data

·            warehouses

·            Manipulating large data sets and using them to assist business to identify trends and reach strategic

·            business decisions

·            Designing, creating and managing the organisation’s data architecture

·            Identifying opportunities for improved business performance based on sound data

·            Identifying risks to the company and escalating accordingly

·            Developing effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation including

·            3rd parties

·            Ensuring Service Level Agreements are met

·            Supporting effective teamwork

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

·            Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent / relevant qualification (Honours or Masters advantageous)

·            At least 8 years or more experience in SQL

·            At least 5 years or more in SQL DW

·            At least 3 years or more in Azure

·            At least 3 years or more in Big Data

·            At least 3 years or more in SSIS

·            Would be advantageous for proven experience in python programming
