The purpose of this position is to manage and coordinate all data related activities conducted for various studies at the Masiphumelele Research Office.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 with undergraduate degree in medical, scientific, biological, statistical, computer science, or related field
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a clinical trial environment
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with databases like REDCAP and iMedidata and resolving queries
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in data quality management including implementing data quality management plans
• A minimum of 2 years’ of supervisory and staff management
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with monitors/ auditors/ inspectors and sponsors on clinical trial data and resolution of queries
• Valid Good Clinical Practice Certificate
• Must be proficient in MS Excel, and other browser-based metadata EDC software (e.g. REDCap)
• Knowledge of research documentation standards
• Design of source documents
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision
• Attention to detail

Advantageous:

• Master’s in Public health advantageous
• Ability to speak isiXhosa
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Responsibilities:

• Provide oversite for research data collection for studies at Masi
• Provide oversite for web-based data collection systems
• Design study documents
• Work with monitors to resolve any and all outstanding queries
• Monitoring active reports regarding enrolment and retention of participants
• Ensure training of and optimal implementation of all components of project data management
• Train and support field-based data collection staff members
