SUMMARY:
An Internal Vacancy exists for a Data Analyst in the Critical Infrastructure Division based in Gauteng 
  
The suitable candidate’s main responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:   

POSITION INFO:

• Data Collection & Processing
• Gather and clean data from multiple sources, including databases, APIs, and spreadsheets.
• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Automate data collection and processing tasks where possible.

• Data Analysis & Interpretation
• Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and correlations.
• Use statistical techniques to interpret data and generate reports to
• Provide insights that support business decisions and optimize processes.

• Data Visualization & Reporting
• Create dashboards, charts, and reports using tools like Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or Python.
• Present findings to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
• Develop interactive visualizations to facilitate data-driven decision-making.

• Database Management & Querying
• Work with databases (SQL, NoSQL) to extract and manipulate data.
• Optimize data structures for efficiency and performance.
• Ensure data integrity and security compliance.

• Business Intelligence & Decision Support
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs.
• Provide insights to improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and profitability.
• Assist in predictive analytics and machine learning initiatives when required.

• Continuous Improvement & Innovation
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in data analytics.
• Recommend improvements in data collection, processing, and reporting techniques.
• Support automation efforts to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

• Honors or Master’s in Criminology
• Experience in i2 Analyst Notebook, Ciims Online Intelligence and XDS is preferable. 
• Driver’s license - own transport
• Proficiency in SQL for data querying.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio).
• Knowledge of programming languages like Python or R.
• Strong Excel skills for data manipulation and reporting, with the ability to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Effective communication skills to present findings to stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and a data-driven mindset.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) is a plus.
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and tools & understanding of business intelligence (BI) strategies.
• Prior experience in data analytics or business intelligence role, with statistical methods and data modelling.
• Clear criminal record
