SUMMARY:
PBT Group has an opportunity for a Data Analyst to source, research and create graphs and reports for the Research team, respond to client requests and ensure all information provided is accurate and current.

PBT Group has an opportunity for a Data Analyst to source, research and create graphs and reports for the Research team, respond to client requests and ensure all information provided is accurate and current.

 

DUTIES:

 

Accurate, timely research:

  • Based on internal and external stakeholder requirements, source relevant local and international data
  • Know when data becomes available and create a schedule to access it
  • Build and expand a network of global contacts who can provide specific information
  • Build, maintain and update a database of raw information

 

Translation of raw data into accurate graphs and reports:

  • Check with internal and external stakeholders to ensure their need has been properly communicated and understood
  • Based on stakeholders’ specific requirements, manipulate data accordingly, providing data, graph(s) and/or reports per client request
  • Maintain a library of templates for the graphs needed on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and/or annual basis
  • Update, adapt or generate new graphs as required, using the same format and colours for the different templates
  • In migrating graphs from Excel to PowerPoint, create the graph, creating layers of superimposed information as required
  • Ensure all information provided to clients is compatible with latest software
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure information provided meets their needs
  • Check internal stakeholders’ diaries to be able to plan ahead to provide graphs and other relevant information for their meetings

 

Accurate, timely research administration:

  • Load finalised GM research onto Standard and Poor’s client intranet
  • Send updated information through to specific publications (e.g. Financial Mail) in line with agreed deadlines
  • Load clients onto Global Markets database to receive reports
  • Provide administrative support to the Research team as required

 

Stakeholder relationship management:

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ yrs. exp in the BI Analyst Role
  • Needs to be able to read and write SQL. Troubleshoot as well.
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills

  • Be able to maintain the environment and provide support where required
  • 3+ years’ research experience in a financial service and/or Treasury environment with exposure to specific products and asset classes
  • Flexible and comfortable with change

  • Support continuous improvement by identifying and solving opportunities.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Microsoft Business Intelligence, Business Objects etc.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills, including the ability to translate business requirements effectively.
  • Perform root cause analysis with stakeholders, conduct interviews or workshops to further evaluate and identify solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Assist with production issues within a given timeframe.
  • Coordinate and participate in the test effort to ensure that the delivered solution meets agreed business requirements and functional/process specifications.
  • Ensure all the business requirements and relevant documents are well documented.
  • Assist the Lead by investigating, estimating and calculating costs and timelines for enhancements and projects.

 

TECHNICAL PRE-REQUISITE
