Data Analyst

Responsibilities:
Perform statistical analysis to inform business decisions.
Develop, encourage and nurture collaborative relationships.
Continuously assess own performance, seek timely and clear feedback and request training where appropriate.
Continuously focus on providing optimal services and improving service delivery processes to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Build working relationships across teams and functional lines in order to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation.
Prevent wastage, and on an ongoing basis identify process improvements in order to contain and reduce costs.
Ensure continuous process improvement to enable effective operational processes.
Participate in projects in the capacity required.
Partner with business to inform research, analysis, and best practice advice and solutions.
Mine, query and analyse data sets .

Qualifications and Experience:
Relevant BSc or BCom degree.
Honours degree with focus in Information Management Dama Certification.
3 to 5 years’ relevant experience.

Experience Required:
Data problem solving.
Data profiling of data sets.
Ability to quantify impact of data issues to business users.
MS-SQL skills -(write complex queries and scripts)
MS Excel skills for Data Analysis & Classification (PIvot Tables, Vlookups)
Documenting of Business Requirements.
Documenting of Technical Solution.
Writing of Test Strategy & Test plan to verify solution implemented correctly.
Execution of test plan and recording of results.
Prior experience with Data Quality Management & Data Cleansing.
Prior experience with Master Data Management.
Ability to learn technical software (we use Informatica, Ab Initio, Kafka, Control M)
Ability to work alone and unguided and propose solutions to data problems.
