A Contract vacancy exists at a Financial Institute in the centre of Pretoria for a Data Architect Specialist to participate in the 1FinSurv Programme.   We are looking for a seasoned Data Architect.

QUALIFICATIONS:  BACHELOR DEGREE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE OR INFORMATION MANAGEMENT OR EQUIVALENT

5 TO 7 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN DATA ARCHITECTURE ENVIRONMENT
10 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE ENVIRONMENT

Financial services industry, organisational and business awareness knowledge and skill
Quality assurance knowledge and skill

The Data Architect will be responsible for defining the blue print for managing data assets by aligning with FinSurv’s information strategy to establish strategic data requirements and designing to meet these requirements.   The role includes the definition on how data is collected, stored, transformed, analysed, distributed and consumed.   It also entails the definition of rules governing all formats.    The Data Architect will also be expected to define the data management and other requirements for data sharing with other departments in the company.
Establish processes for governing the identification, collection and use of metadata, take steps to assure metadata accuracy and validity
Establish methods and procedures for tracking data quality, completeness, redundancy and improvement
Conduct data planning, data life cycle, data retention, feasibility studies and define data usage requirements
Collaborate with other SME’s to create strategies and plans for data security, backup, disaster recovery, business continuity and archiving
Align data strategies and architectures with applicable regulatory compliance, industry policies and standards
Assess and determine governance, stewardship and frameworks for managing data across the organisation
Develop and promote data management methodologies and standards
Oversee the mapping of data sources, data movement, interfaces and analytics, with the goal of ensuring data quality
Identity and develop opportunities for data reuse, migration or retirement
Define data management requirements for data sharing with between FinSurv and other departments
Alignment of the 1FinSurv data Model with the company’s Data Reference Model and develop the following data models
FinSurv Data Model based on ISO 20022
Subject Area Models
Conceptual Data Models
Logical Data Models
Data Flow Models
Data Catalogue and Business Glossary in conjunction with the Data Analysts
Meta-data definitions associated with the Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Entities
Master Data Management Models
