SUMMARY:
A well established Commercial Bank based in Sandton has vacancies for experienced Data Engineers that will be required to design, develop, and support a data platform that enables data scientists and modelers with their data requirements.

POSITION INFO:

Responsabilities:

Take ownership and responsibility for allocated client area
Action the business requirement
Develop and maintain data models
Develop and maintain data code
Develop and support code to load and transform data across technology platforms
Manage the data estate databases, and data loader tools
Ensure adherence to best practice principles and processes
Interaction & engagement with team
Continuous personal development

Min:

Must have detailed knowledge of:
- IT systems development processes (SDLC)
- Application development
- ETL processes
- Relational database technologies
- Dimensional modelling
- Standards and governance
- Agile development life cycle
- Testing practices

Ideal:

Knowledge of:
- Data analysis and design
- Data architecture (technical design and implementation processes)
- Data Product Lifecycle
- Solid understanding of:
  - Banking systems environment
  - Banking business model
  - Best practices for Quality Assurance (QA)

Technical Skills

Minimum:

Strong SQL and T-SQL
SSIS
Basic SQL Server and / or business intelligence tools (SSRS, SSAS)
Data Warehousing
Ideal:

PowerBI
.Net Development
AWS Cloud services

Education:

A relevant post-graduate qualification (Hons / Masters) with majors in Statistics, Operational Research, Mathematics, Actuarial Science or Computer Science
