Attention all you data driven junkies, a multinational fintech company with operations in Europe and Asia that provides their clients comfort in times of concern and confidence to act when the time is right is looking for a Data Engineer based in Cape Town.

POSITION INFO:

Job & Company Description:

This role is responsible for the investment team database architecture, data flow and data processes including receiving, transferring, processing, analysing, and integrating 3rd party systems. You will also be managing and analysing large amounts of data. You will also be responsible for:

Design relational data tables.
Optimize table structures.
Optimize stored procedures for large data sets.
Write ETL scripts for data ingestion and transfers.
Python ETL scripting.
Linux server administration and bash scripting.
Automate data quality checks and database cleaning
Maintain backup and restore functionality

Education:

A tertiary qualification in (Computer Science/Information Systems/Maths/Stats/Business Science/Actuarial).

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Min of 2 years’ experience in database management and ETL processes.

Experience in the following:

Python and SQL.
Linux Server administration.
ETL Scripting.
