Data Engineer - Start-Up - Edinburgh HQ or Fully Remote
Your new role …
You will be joining a brand-new team, indeed company to work on some of the most interesting problems that can be solved with data.
As one of the first Data Engineers you will be able to shape the role in a lot of ways - and you will be an absolutely critical person when it comes to delivering large scale programmes of work for their ever-growing customer base.
Although this is technically "consultancy", you won''t be shipped out on to client site and never spoken to again. This is a tightknit team, with a stellar leadership team who have been there and done that. As a result, you will get the variety of a large consultancy and the intimacy of a small start-up - sounds good eh?!
Unlike a lot of large-scale consultancies, this team are keen for data engineering to have a seat at the table when it comes to new client pitches. They don''t want to have the sales team over promising or indeed promising stuff that can''t be done! This means you get the chance to meet some really interesting clients and discuss their challenges with them before solving them.

A start-up in every sense of the word, however, with one huge advantage in that their founding team have built data companies in the past. They know what they are doing and are keen to leverage their expertise in a slightly different domain.
They have built a strong leadership team and are now slowly building out their technical capability with big plans for 2022.
The first few months of their existence have been very methodical and thought out, which has resulted in a pretty epic sales pipeline - meaning, they now need people to deliver the projects which is a lovely position to be in.

You will be a Data Engineer - obviously. Don''t worry, they aren''t looking for someone who can list every technology under the sun.
They simply want someone who really understands Python, SQL and one of the core cloud providers, so AWS, Azure or GCP.
Some of their upcoming projects have a focus on Spark, but this isn''t a necessity.
You''ll understand Data Engineering best practice and you''ll have a desire to learn - the company will put you through any certifications you fancy as well.
On offer …
The salary on offer is ranges from £40-75k because they are looking to build a small team, so it really depends on your experience level.
As well as this, they offer flexible working so are more than happy for you to work from home when you like but have an office in Edinburgh if you want to work on-site, or a mix of both.
