Data Engineer

Roles and responsibilities:

• Develop and maintaining back-end code to perform the required data manipulation to make it ready for analysis
• Develop and maintain ETL and data integration processes between systems and the data warehouse
• Responsible for ensuring security and compliance of data transfer, storage, and processing
• Responsible for improving data quality and data integrity in the data warehouse
• Provide data solutions, tools, and capabilities to enable self-service frameworks for data consumers
• Exploratory analysis
• Assist with data analysis on data used across business units to evaluate business processes and improve on/create a new feature

Skills and qualifications :

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science/Information Systems/Engineering/Analytics or related field
• 5+ years working experience within the data engineering, data architect or data analysis environment
• Experience with SQL, R, Python, and other Data Manipulation Software
• Exposure to modern data architectures including unstructured databases, streaming data, message queues, cloud deployment, and distributed computing
• Experience with security controls, managing private and/or sensitive data
• A minimum of 2 years experience working with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• A minimum of 2 years experience in one of the following BI tools (Qlik, Sisense, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau)
• Proven track record of successful communication of data infrastructure, data models, and data engineering solutions through written communication, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
• Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Data-driven and passionate about analytics
