Data Engineer

Our client is positioned as the “Digitalisation partner of choice” for their customers to embark on and take advantage of the Fourth Industrial Revolution journey.

The purpose of this role will be to conceptualize and deliver impactful data solutions.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Computer Science, Information Systems or related degree.

Technical Skills:

• Workshop and training facilitation skills.
• Skilled in the following software – SQL Server (including SSRS, SSAS, SSIS), Power BI, Azure SQL Database.
• Writing in T-SQL with the inclusion of the ability to optimize queries and use indexes to your advantage.
• Creating usable data structures, design data models, profile data and test quality of data set.
• Ability to design, model and develop dimensional objects using SQL.
• SQL query performance and optimization and indexing.

Experience Required:

• You have contributed to the development of a data architecture for a large organization
• Project and / or team management
• Extensive experience with data analysis, data warehousing, ETL processes and dimensional modelling.
• Proven experience creating dashboards that provide real business insights.
• You have built automated data management, data modelling or data quality processes and applications and you are able to demonstrate your experience with these.
• You have built a Data Vault, Data Warehouse or used Data Vault tools and applications.
• You have experience designing and building hybrid cloud architectures and tools that traverse on-prem and cloud environments (Ideally with Microsoft Azure technologies).
• You have developed a methodology or process for master data management, data quality, data stewardship, data management or automated data governance.
