JOB DESCRIPTION:

To be responsible for the solutions and architecture for processing data with the objective of transforming raw data into a valuable asset and tool for all business units, locally and internationally to meet their mandate and objectives.

Responsibilities:

Work with the data scientist to produce algorithms for the practical application of data.
Data Engineering Management
Manage and organize the organization’s data
Develop, construct, test and maintain data architectures
Align architecture with business requirements
Develop data set processes
Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality
Design, develop, implement and maintain Oracle/Microsoft SQL applications.
Manage all steps of data processing and visualisation
Develop dashboards, reports and other visualizations
Prepare data for predictive and prescriptive modelling
Find hidden patterns using data
Monitor and review data inconsistencies
Maintain all SQL / PLSQL processes.
CRM integration to multiple platforms.
Ensure DB availability.
SQL database design
Optimize data retrieval and integration processes with 3rd party data sources

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree: Information Technology/Programming, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistical Modelling, Data Management
2+ years' experience as a data engineer / modeller experience in a BI environment.
Data API management
Algorithms and data structures
ETL tools set-up, roll-out and maintenance
Database systems management (SQL and NoSQL)
Data warehousing and management solutions management, understanding of the Microsoft and google tech stack, include of Azure and Google cloud, are required.
Must have experience with programming languages such PL/SQL coding
Experience should include DB design (modelling and normalisation), capacity planning, performance tuning, storage management, back-up and recovery, managing schemas, report generation and DB clustering technologies
Ideally Oracle Certified DB Professional and or Microsoft SQL certification
Python, Java, and Scala programming language skills
Understanding the basics of distributed systems such as Hadoop
