JOB SUMMARY:
Mindworx is hiring Data Engineer and Management Specialist for a Fixed Term Contract: 24 months, responsible for the solutions and architecture for processing data with the objective of transforming raw data into a valuable asset. Someone that will work with the data scientist to produce algorithms for the practical application of data.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree: Information Technology/Programming, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistical Modelling, Data Management
2+ years experience as a data engineer/modeller experience in a BI environment.
Data API management
Algorithms and data structures
ETL tools set-up, roll-out and maintenance
Database systems management (SQL and NoSQL)
Data warehousing and management solutions management, and understanding of the Microsoft and google tech stack, include of Azure and Google cloud, are required.
Must have experience with programming languages such as PL/SQL coding
Experience should include DB design (modelling and normalisation), capacity planning, performance tuning, storage management, backup and recovery, managing schemas, report generation and DB clustering technologies
Ideally Oracle Certified DB Professional & or Microsoft SQL certification

Knowledge and understanding of:

Government priorities and imperatives
Python, Java, and Scala programming language skills
Understanding the basics of distributed systems such as Hadoop
