Current-state Information and Data Management Architecture

Future-state Information and Data Management Architecture

Roadmap for transformation from current to future state Information and Data Management architectures

Organisational understanding and alignment around emerging Information Management, Data Management, Data Warehousing and Big Data technologies

Information and Data Management Architecture Principles

Information, Data Management and Warehousing Standards

Information and Data Management Technical Debt Rating

Participation in Architecture Review Board



Role Responsibilities:

Govern the development and ongoing review and update of the organisation's Information and Data Management Principles

Develop and regularly review and where necessary recommend updates to the organisation's Information and Data Management standards which includes data integration

Participate in the Architecture Review Board to ensure Solution Architecture alignment with Information and Data Management Principles, Standards and Future State Vision



KPIs:

Number of version updates of the Future-State Information and Data Management Architecture over the past 12 months

Decrease in Information and Data Management Technical Debt over the past 12 months

Number of Solution Architecture deviations from Information and Data Management Technology Standards over the past 12 months

Number of Solution Architecture deviations from Information and Data Management Principles over the past 12 months

Role Scope:

Primary focus is on the development of the Enterprise-level future view w.r.t. Information and Data Management

Focus will include all supporting artefacts required to effectively and professionally deliver the Enterprise-level future view, including Principles, Standards, Reference Architectures, Patterns and Services

This role scope will include Solution Architecture where required by the organisation



Role Tasks and Activities:

Provide leadership and vision for the optimisation and rationalisation of Information and Data Management infrastructure - aimed at increasing capability and/or IT cost savings and/or IT Service Levels.

Provide mentorship and coaching w.r.t. Information and Data Management technologies to all Architecture teams within the organization

Provide an Information and Data Management Architecture Centre of Excellence capability to the organisation



Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in either Information Systems or Computer Science

Honours or Masters Degree (or higher) in either Information Systems or Computer Science

TOGAF Foundation Training and/or TOGAF Certification

Information Technology Architect Certification (ITAC) (Open Group)



Role Experience:

3+ Years’ experience as a Capability Architect II: Data



Prior Knowledge:

Advanced enterprise-wide view of the business and strong appreciation for strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance

Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors

Advanced understanding of all Business Architecture disciplines

Knowledge of EA methodologies and frameworks, such as TOGAF, Gartner, Zachman, Bizbok, The Open Group Business Architecture Framework, BABOK, PMIPBA, etc.

Some Knowledge in IT Domains of information, security, application, technology infrastructure and integration



Technology Environment:

Middleware technologies (IBM WebShere, Datapower, Message Broker, MQ) ECM, BPM

FileNet, HP Extreme, SharePoint
