SUMMARY:

An amazing opportunity has opened up at a company based in Johannesburg Central seeking the expertise of a Data Quality Specialist to provide specialist support to the business unit in the execution of the data quality policies and standards aligned to the business unit strategy. Manages the evolution and transition of the data quality strategy and architecture in response to changing business requirements

Responsibilities

  • Identify, control and escalate potential risks which may lead to increased costs
  • Manage costs or expenses within approved budget to achieve cost efficiencies
  • Deliver against operational and cost targets
  • Prioritize resource allocation to minimize and reduce wastage
  • Build and maintain relationships with external service providers, information management professionals, the IT community and data consumers
  • Participate in and provide direction to the technical and business change management processes from a data quality perspective
  • Ensure effective communication of data quality management to key stakeholders
  • Build and maintain relationships for the purposes of reciprocally managing expectations, sharing knowledge and diverse insights, and creating buy-in
  • Engage in cross-functional relationships in order to obtain and to provide work support
  • Represent the business unit at various Data Quality forums and committees to promote the Information Management and supporting Data Quality strategy
  • Create and maintain business unit Data Quality Management implementation roadmaps and ensure alignment with franchise and BU strategy and architecture
  • Monitor and maintain Data Quality
  • Management standards and guidelines to reflect current and future state
  • Apply a control framework to ensure appropriate control ownership, escalation, implementation and maintenance of controls
  • Identify and monitor data quality related initiatives and projects in the business unit
  • Agree thresholds with and escalation procedures with information owners
  • Monitor and report on control design and effectiveness
  • Collect metrics and success measures and report them to data stakeholders
  • Ensure that the framework defines working relationships and sharing of operational components between operational groups within the business
  • Manage the required Data Quality

  • Facilitate the definition, and assist with the allocation, of Data Quality Management accountability for information assets
  • Ensure that Data Quality Management governance is implemented across the business
