The data scientist’s primary responsibility will be to create and deliver data-driven insights, decision support and optimization and to assist in identifying business opportunities through applying data science techniques to the organization’s data.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

Degree (Honours, Masters or PHD) in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and / or a combination of these
Relevant data science certifications such as: Python, Microsoft, AWS, Hadoop, big data, machine learning, cloud infrastructure
At least 5 years of hands-on work experience in data science related projects with practical experience applying Machine Learning techniques
Experience in working with Python, statistical and machine learning libraries and the SciPy stack (Scikit-learn, numpy, matplotlib, etc)
Technical statistical knowledge for implementing ML and predictive models
Experience with Microsoft Azure data science pipelines and tools
Experience with SQL and working with large-scale data sets
Experience in training and coaching co-workers
Experience in operationalising data science solutions or similar solution development
Experience in a high-scale production environment is crucial
