SUMMARY:
Data Scientist with experience in the banking / finance sector

POSITION INFO:

WE ARE ASSITING OUR CLIENT THAT IS BASED IN PRETORIA TO FILL A ROLE OF A DATASCIENTIST

THIS IS A CONTRACT ROLE FOR 3 YEARS

The following experience is required for this role:

7-8 years of experience of hands-on data science role
Previous experience of building risk data tools should be beneficial in risk based supervisory environment, but not required
A toolkit of modern data science techniques
Demonstrated competence in application of logic to problems.
Demonstrated competence in research and problem resolution.
Proficient in Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to work in team and independently
At least 7 years in a strategy or analytics role with in financial services industry required.
Data Science experience preferred: Regressions, Clustering, Decision Trees, Ensemble learning like Boosting/Bagging, Neural Networks (Network Analysis experience a plus)
Experience with any data science tools/packages: Python, R, XGBoost, TensorFlow, NLTK
Experience with any big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Data Bricks
Experience with any reporting tools: SAS, Power BI, SSRS, Excel
Experience with any AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift, Aurora, S3
Experience with any Stream-processing systems: Storm, Spark-Streaming

Minimum qualification Required:

Bachelor or Masters degree in Data Science, Operations Research, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, or another quantitative field.
Relevant programming qualifications and / or certifications
Relevant Agile certification is preferable

Skills:
