SUMMARY:
Our client in Midrand is looking for a Data Specialist to provide technology and data support for a one-off project to consolidate and organize our physical and digital data sources. He/She will be responsible for collating and verifying data from multiple sources, assisting with the implementation of data hardware (paper) and software storage systems, creating a structure to manage such systems and executing data transfers.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

Degree in Information Management/ Data Analytics/Computer Science
Ability to read, interpret, and verify data from multiple formats
Knowledge of data retrieval and storage systems
Ability to work independently on projects
Knowledge of computer hardware systems and peripherals
Excellent communication and report-writing skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Overall responsibilities:

Conducting a thorough data analysis information and storage systems
Implementing a digital conversion program using existing IT tools/systems
Interfacing with third party data archiving vendors
Verifying and extracting data from hardcopy and other digital sources
Importing and transferring data to a secure central database
Defining a management system to store and access data and information going forward
Performing data integrity and quality audits
Creating and submitting data collation reports
Troubleshooting information storage issues
Training staff on data storage and retrieval processes
Regular reporting directly to senior management
