Datacentre Engineer

SUMMARY:
As a Datacentre Engineer, you will be part of the team that is responsible for the maintenance, administration, and day-to-day operations of the datacentre services. The individual will also work closely with users to identify potential issues and fix existing problems.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
• Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups.
• Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures.
• Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems within SLA.
• Continual improvement on processes and technologies to increase productivity and stability, including supporting documentation.
• Replacing faulty infrastructure hardware components when required.
• Maintaining, configuring, and monitoring virus protection software and email applications.
• Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made.
• Engaging with network users about solving existing system problems.
• Designing, configuring, and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software.
• Pro-active cyber security awareness, implementation, and compliance in line with the Cyber Security Strategy.

Minimum requirements:

• Degree / Diploma / Certificate in Information Technology
• Microsoft Office 365 knowledge
• 3+ years’ experience in a networking and telecommunications support environment
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
• Must have Hyper-V experience
• Deep understanding of VMware, SharePoint, and Voice over IP

Advantageous requirements:

• Support and configuration of cloud services (Azure, AWS)
• Financial services experience
