SUMMARY:
Our client a leading mergers and acquisitions company is seeking an experienced Deal Associate to join their team.

POSITION INFO:

Main purpose:

Preparation of, and presentation to clients on, the proposed process, the sales story and the go to market offering, which leaves the client satisfied and with a level of comfort regarding future engagement.

End to End Management of Planning and Prep Phase

  • Review past and present financials, financial models prepared in collaboration with Deal Analyst, the business plan, and all other related information in order to write the IM
  • Conduct valuations
  • Contributing to the research process, ie. imparting knowledge of the client and giving input where applicable
  • Attend and contribute towards research and other brainstorming sessions to come up with a workable deal and research strategy that focuses on getting the deal across the line
  • Review research plans and prospect lists prior to submission to client.
  • Create IM and teaser campaign in line with deal strategy
  • In consultation with client and broader team ensure the prep timeline is achievable, considers the go live date, and includes all milestones
  • Proactively manage timelines with view of creating transparency for team and clients in terms of any required changes
  • Ensure that all information is gathered timeously to formulate, within your control, a project plan that is both functional and achievable
  • Conduct Business Immersion meetings with the deal analyst and include the researcher where possible
  • Review briefing document proposed by deal analyst and finalise output
  • Ensure that value is being delivered each month by our client and communicate with Finance to confirm that invoicing can take place
  • Ensure that our clients Dividend targets are achieved by handing over, and supporting, the very best quality work to the Transaction Closer

Client Relationship Management

  • Obtain sign-off from client on Teaser, IM and Research confirming they are happy to go to ‘live-to-market’ phase and confirm on CRM
  • Attend prospect meetings when needed
  • Ensure that the Transaction Closer has all required information to engage the market successfully
  • Achieve a 90% Customer Satisfaction rating from our client for the Prep Phase of the project based on customer experience, feedback and interaction
  • Where possible gain exposure and access the knowledge and experience of the transaction closer

Leadership

  • Guide reports in their development
  • Be clear on roles & responsibilities and give direct feedback
  • Knowledge sharing
