POSITION INFO:

Our client is looking for a meticulous and proactive Debtors Clerk who thrives in a dynamic, high-paced setting. You will take full ownership of the debtor’s book, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely collections across multiple platforms. If you are detail-obsessed, financially savvy, and love turning numbers into meaningful action then this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain an accurate debtor’s book across retail, wholesale, and online channels
- Monitor account aging, perform reconciliations, and allocate payments efficiently
- Follow up on outstanding payments and resolve queries promptly
- Process credit notes and verify returns for e-commerce and wholesale clients
- Build and maintain professional relationships with customers to ensure smooth collections
- Prepare regular debtors reports and support the Finance Manager with audits and compliance
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency
Job Experience and Skills Required:- Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or Business
- 5+ years’ experience in debtors/accounts receivable, ideally within retail or a multi-channel business
- Advanced Excel and financial reporting proficiency
- Strong understanding of ERP systems (Odoo ERP preferred)
- Proven experience in customer account management and dispute resolution
- Familiarity with multi-currency transactions and international accounts
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Highly organized, self-driven, and accountable
- Thrives under pressure in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
