Debtors Clerk

SUMMARY:
A well established company within the Mining and Construction industry, based in the Durban (Umhlanga) area, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Debtors Clerk with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of debtors control processes and proven experience working in a fast paced, high volume environment.
This role requires someone who is accurate, deadline driven, and able to work independently while maintaining strong client relationships.

POSITION INFO:
Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Full function of Debtors Ledger management
• Performing Debtors reconciliations
• Processing and issuing Credit Notes
• Conducting detailed Age Analysis and following up on overdue accounts
• Preparing and processing Customer Invoices
• Ensuring accurate payments
• Managing account queries and resolving discrepancies
• Monthly reporting on outstanding debtors
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date debtor records
• Assisting with audit requirements where necessary
• Liaising with internal departments and external clients regarding accounts

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Debtors Clerk (essential)
• Experience within the Mining and/or Construction industry (advantageous)
• Strong working knowledge of Pastel Evolution (non-negotiable)
• Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field (essential)
• Solid understanding of debtors processes and credit control procedures
• Excellent reconciliation and numerical skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
