Job Description: We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Debtors Manager to lead our debtors team. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of accounts receivable and credit management, ensuring effective debt collection and minimising credit risk. This role requires both a graduate-level education and relevant experience in debtors management.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement strategies to optimise accounts receivable processes and improve cash flow.
2. Manage a team of debtors clerks, providing leadership, guidance, and support.
3. Establish and maintain credit policies and procedures in line with company objectives and industry best practices.
4. Monitor customer accounts and aging reports to identify overdue balances and implement appropriate collection strategies.
5. Review and approve credit applications and credit limits for new and existing customers.
6. Conduct regular credit reviews and assessments to minimize credit risk and exposure.
7. Negotiate payment plans and settlements with delinquent customers as needed.
8. Collaborate with sales and operations teams to address customer disputes and resolve billing issues.
9. Prepare regular reports and analysis on accounts receivable performance and aging trends.
10. Stay updated on industry trends and regulations related to credit management and debt collection.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
2. Proven experience in debtors management, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
3. Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
5. Thorough understanding of accounting principles and credit management best practices.
6. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Excel.
7. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports and forecasts.
8. Experience in the logistics or transportation industry is preferred.
9. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
