Demand Planner

SUMMARY:
Southern Oil Pty Ltd, an established company and market leader in the manufacturing of Canola oil and related products in the retail, food services, and bulk sectors, has the following exciting career opportunity in Swellendam.

POSITION INFO:

Short Summary:

This position is responsible for the sourcing and ordering of all services and goods as per the MRP system requirements as authorized by the Procurement Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Procurement:
  • Review demand forecast for accuracy to improve the process.
  • Determine and manage demand for raw and packing material to ensure continuous supply to production through the following:
    • Determine minimum stock levels for all raw, packing, and consumable material.
    • Review minimum stock levels continuously.
    • Calculate and communicate replenishment orders to Junior Buyer.
    • Continuous interaction with production planning to determine changes in demand and action corrective action if required.
  • Determine demand and action replenishment for contract packaged finale products.
  • Contract Management:
    • Manage and reconcile commodity contracts to ensure timeous and fulfillment of contracts.
    • Manage RSPO process and reporting on Palm Olein oil purchased.
  • Create and maintain a knowledge base for all raw and packing material to determine alternatives and solutions for limited availability and short supply.
• Price and Tender Administration:
  • Keep a record of the latest approved supplier prices and update the price list system.
  • Process tender results to a database for consideration.
  • Update approved and allocated tender prices on price lists.
• Import and Export Management:
  • Imports
    • Receive and review all documentation for imported goods.
    • Update database for all imports in conjunction with service providers.
    • Communicate progress on imports to relevant stakeholders.
  • Exports
    • Manage process and progress to ensure execution as contracted by the trader.
    • Maintain database for exports.
• Other procurement functions:
  • Investigating and reporting on all internal non-conformances.
  • Open and manage all supplier non-conformances to ensure timeous feedback and corrective action are implemented.
  • Ad hoc projects are required to identify improved business processes and implement solutions.
  • Ad hoc reporting as required by Procurement Manager.
  • Liaise between planning, stores, logistics, and suppliers for all procurement-related queries.

• Grade 12
• Relevant qualifications in Supply Chain Management and Purchasing would be an advantage
• At least 5 years’ experience within Procurement/ Supply Chain environment
• Computer Literate (MS Office, MS Outlook, and Internet)
