SUMMARY:
This global company currently has a 12-month fixed term contract, for a Deputy Accounting Manager. The role will be responsible for providing support to the Finance Manager and/or Financial Controller to maintain the integrity of the financial accounting function in accordance with sound accounting practices, legislation requirements and company policies & standards.

POSITION INFO:

Job Requirements:

Honours Degree in Accounting.
Big 4 articles advantageous.
CIMA or CA (SA) advantageous.
3 to 5 years post articles experience with a minimum of 1 to 2 years in a Management role.
SAP experience essential.
Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft packages.
Understand business systems is a necessity.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the Financial Reporting and analysis function.
Assist the Financial Manager and Financial Controller in effective tax management.
Assist the Financial Manager and Financial Controller with effective Corporate Governance.
Effectively manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team.
Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Fixed Assets.
Analyse expenditure to minimise risk.
Effective Treasury/cash management.
Lead, direct and manage the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.
Maintain and improve SHERQ performance within the department.
Manage and implement Continuous Improvements and Projects for the department.

Must be able to handle pressure, work independently as well as be a team player, with a positive, self-motivated attitude

Assertive, highly ethical and principle-driven with accountability and having the ability to hold others accountable is required.
