SUMMARY:
Our client is currently in the process of recruiting a Deputy Director: Administrative Coordinator - Disaster Operation Centre  to Coordinate and support implementation of key operations in relation to disaster risk management 
with special emphasis on COVID-19 response and related hazards and disasters

POSITION INFO:

  • Responsibilities: 

  • Support and technically direct the operations of the Disaster Operations Centre (DOC) during the period of activation.
  • Provide secretariat services of NDMC DOC meetings and coordinate the implementation of decisions taken.
  • Quality assuring, assessing, and summarizing the content of incoming and outgoing submissions, reports and correspondences relating to the DOC.
  • Coordinate DOC reporting on disaster management operations
  • Coordinate submission of Contingency Plans for operationalization by the DOC, activation of and regular reporting on contingency plans (national, provincial and municipal). 

Requirements & Experience:
  • Matric - Gade 12
  • A 3-year Degree or National Diploma in Disaster Management or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in disaster risk management or related fields
  • Report writing, analytic and planning skills; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access proficiency.
  • This role may include 12-hour working shifts from the period when Disaster Operation Centre (DOC) is 
activated
