SUMMARY:
Our client is currently in the process of recruiting a Deputy Director: Administrative Coordinator - Disaster Operation Centre to Coordinate and support implementation of key operations in relation to disaster risk management
with special emphasis on COVID-19 response and related hazards and disasters

POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities:
Support and technically direct the operations of the Disaster Operations Centre (DOC) during the period of activation.
Provide secretariat services of NDMC DOC meetings and coordinate the implementation of decisions taken.
Quality assuring, assessing, and summarizing the content of incoming and outgoing submissions, reports and correspondences relating to the DOC.
Coordinate DOC reporting on disaster management operations
Coordinate submission of Contingency Plans for operationalization by the DOC, activation of and regular reporting on contingency plans (national, provincial and municipal).

Requirements & Experience:

Matric - Gade 12
A 3-year Degree or National Diploma in Disaster Management or equivalent qualification.
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in disaster risk management or related fields
Report writing, analytic and planning skills; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access proficiency.
This role may include 12-hour working shifts from the period when Disaster Operation Centre (DOC) is

activated
