Deputy Hotel General Manager

SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:
𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

• Hospitality qualification in Hotel Management (essential)
• Additional studies in Finance, Business or Management (advantageous)
• 3–5 years’ experience in a senior hotel operations role (Deputy GM, Ops Manager) in hotels 100 rooms plus.
• Hands-on, solutions-driven leadership style with a mentoring approach
• Sound knowledge of all hotel departments including Rooms, F&B and Revenue
• Proven experience managing operational budgets and cost control
• Excellent communication, planning, and team development abilities
• Experience working with systems such as Opera, Micros, and Microsoft Office
• Flexibility to work varied hours, weekends, and public holidays
• South African citizenship required

• Lead and support departmental managers and operations staff
• Deputise in the absence of the General Manager
• Ensure smooth day-to-day hotel operations and guest satisfaction
• Manage performance reviews, compliance, and departmental SOPs
• Monitor and manage labour and operating costs in line with budgets
• Uphold brand standards across service areas and guest touchpoints
• Address guest complaints professionally and drive service recovery
• Foster an engaged, high-performing team culture across departments
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and labour regulations
• Drive interdepartmental coordination and operational excellence
