Deputy RP

SUMMARY:
The role is responsible for the accurate dispensing of required TPN according to orders received.

POSITION INFO:

Dispensing

• Accurately dispense TPN according to orders received
• Ensure correct TPN is picked
• Ensure TPN bears correct patient label
• Ensure correct TPN over pouch
• Verify correctness of stock on receipt:
• Product integrity
• Gamma irradiation sticker
• Labelling – TPN code on bag
• Ensure adherence to company SOPs and guidelines at all times
• Ensure traceability of all product dispensed and doctor information
• Supervise and assist drivers/distributor with planning of delivery schedule
• Liaise and arrange for courier / transporter delivery of TPN to outlying areas
• Ensure that all returned TPN is handled in the appropriate manner in compliance with rules and regulations and in accordance with company policies and procedure
• Update and write new SOPs as needed to ensure compliance with the dispensing function

Efficient TPN stock control

• Maintenance of optimal stock levels
• Ensure FEEFO is applied
• Writing off expired stock and ensuring correct destruction
• Evaluation of returned goods for credit and maintenance of required records

Customer Liaison

• Ensure continuous liaison with customer to ensure optimal service is rendered
• Update customers and prescribers of new developments with regards to service provision

Staff Management

• Motivates and manages staff issues as they arise
• Establishes training needs of staff and ensures required training is undertaken
• Staff administration with regards to timekeeping, overtime, leave
• Effective recruitment and selection of new employees

Administration

• Ensure that activities undertaken comply with good pharmacy practice and applicable legislation. Decides on and takes appropriate action should there be a breech in compliance
• Plan and conduct required cycle counts and stock counts
• Correct invoicing of all customers
• Submission of monthly reports on time as required
• Ensure all PODs are received and retained for all invoices and sent for scanning

Deputy RP

• Assume responsibility of Branch RP in the absence of the Branch RP
