Design Draughtsman_Heavy Engineering

SUMMARY:
Design Draughtsman_Vaal required for established client with heavy engineering experience (5 to 10 years) in automotive / trailer industry with excellent AutoCAD and Inventor skills plus exposure to working with BOMs

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

• Experience: 5 to 10 years in 3D mechanical parts and components. Heavy engineering with trailer and automotive industry experience being preferential.
• Qualifications: Any tertiary qualification below an engineer is preferred. All candidates should bring, if possible, a portfolio of work to the interview.
• Software: Microsoft Office (excel, word, outlook), Nesting Software (Not Critical), AutoCAD and Inventor (Essential).
• Interview test: May be given to candidates i.t.o. skills on AutoCAD and Inventor.
• Depending on the candidates’ experience and qualifications.

 

Responsibilities:

• Reports to engineering manager.
• Convert 2D designs to 3D.
• Assist in implementing drawing standards.
• Manage and maintain specific products.
• Take on complete projects from start to finish.
• Assist production and repair departments as needed.
• Create nestings for plasma.
• Assist with day to day.
• Data capturing and filing.
• Bills of materials.
• Proper planning and time management. The successful candidate will be expected to function successfully on their own.
• Maintain good interdepartmental communication and relations.
