SUMMARY:
A well know Plastics Manufacturing Company requires the above to facilitate the development of New Products, aligned to the Design CentreÃ¢Â€Â™s new goals and objectives.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

Tertiary qualification in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering or related qual Is pref.
Previous experience in Concept Generation and Product Development, as well as a background in Research and Development is essential.
Pervious experience working within the Packaging or Plastics Industry is preferred.
Previous experience in Tooling Design for Injection Moulding, Thermoforming and Blow-moulding Design will be advantageous.
Previous experience in Development Engineering is essential.
Previous experience in Computer Simulations for Production-related Design and Process is essential.
Must have applied knowledge of the latest Digital Design Tools, particularly in Solid Works Suite, Finite Element Analysis, Flow Simulation and Heat and Mass Transfer Simulation would be advantageous.
Must be a creative and practical thinker aligned with the Design Centre’s New Goals and Objectives.
Computer literacy in MS Office, Excel, and Power Point is essential.
Good timekeeping skills with the ability to work independently is essential.
A valid Driver’s licence is essential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Facilitate the development of a pipeline on New Products for short and medium-term sustainable growth.
Drive the Concept Design portfolio within the allocated allowance.
Manage and oversee CAD Modelling for final signoff.
Ensure Customer satisfaction and engagement is met.
Managing and implementing timelines for Key Projects, ensuring best possible customer satisfaction.
Improve concept generation turnaround time through Digital Simulation and Tooling Development.
Prepare Concepts and Designs within the context of DFM, with the foresight of the requirements of available production equipment and facilities.
Prepare detailed drawings, renderings and animations to highlight Product Design features and functionality.
Identify opportunities for the replacement of traditional packaging for feasibility assessments.
Identify opportunities to improve profitability for cycle time improvements in production processes.
