Design Engineer - Chemical Manufacturing Industry

SUMMARY:
A well-known and established International Company specialising within the Chemical Manufacturing Industry requires the above to be responsible for technical design and installation of mechanical plant equipment with extensive experience in AutoCAD.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• A tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related is essential.
• Previous experience having worked as a Mechanical Engineer in a Chemical or related industry is preferred but not essential.
• Previous experience having designed plant equipment from concept is essential.
• Previous project management experience including costing and procurement is essential.
• Previous experience having worked on Screw Conveyers, Bucket Elevators, Crushers, Granulators and Driers is preferred.
• The successful candidate must have advanced AutoCAD design experience.
• The successful candidate must possess analytical capabilities having experience in root cause analysis.
• The successful candidate must be able to present reports, analyse variances and collate data.
• The successful candidate must have the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Designing equipment from scratch and capturing the designs onto the AutoCAD system.
• Running with the various projects and keeping accurate records of various projects.
• Sharing technical expertise with the Professional Engineers.
• Advising Production and Maintenance of problem solving within the plant
• Managing project development from initial inquiry to project execution.
• Overseeing the project and program life cycle management.
• Planning, monitoring and executing defined project scope and ensuring cost, timing and quality objectives are met.
• Tracking and reporting on project milestones and providing appropriate status reports to Management and relevant departments.
• Resolving any project issue and submitting proactive resolution of problems throughout the project life cycle.
• Determining if external Consultants or Contractors will be required to complete project plan. 
• Evaluating situations using multiple sources of information and adopting the appropriate solution.
