Desktop Technician L2 - Contract

Our Client a global Tech firm is seeking a L2 Desktop Technician to join their team in Cape town on a contract basis for 6 to 12 months . They offer stability, growth, attractive rate and an excellent working environment.

As a L2 Desktop Technician, you'll be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing desktop computers. You will provide support to our customers by resolving issues related to hardware and software. You should have experience with Microsoft Windows 7/8/10, Office 2013, Outlook 2013/2016, OneDrive and SharePoint 2010-2016.

Requirements

• Troubleshoots hardware and software issues
• Resolves application problems, including resolving and repairing name resolution settings
• Provides consultation to less-experienced users on a variety of applications, including email, Internet browsers, Internet security and antivirus, and Microsoft Office
• Execute basic maintenance on a specific piece of hardware or software
• Perform simple troubleshooting operations
• Provide support in the areas of networking, security, administrative management, application development, and system integration and administration

• Preferably 3-5 Years IT End User Support experience
• Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems experience – Windows 7 and Windows 10
• MS-Office versions (Office 2010, 2013, 2016, and O365)
• Computer hardware and software troubleshooting skills
• Microsoft System Center 2012
• Effective Management of IT hardware and IT environment
• Active Directory – Creating users and password resets
• Support Java and Dot Net applications
• Java installs and configuration
• Good Telephonic user support
• Good PC imaging and build skills
• Fast thinker and good communication skills

Qualifications

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to complete any tasks with ease.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field required
• Must have two years of experience as a desktop technician with hands-on experience installing and configuring Windows Operating Systems.
• Must have three years of recent experience as a Desktop Technician in an office environment, such as a computer store or IT department.
• Tertiary education and relevant technology courses attended (MCSE and A+ will be an advantage)
