Role

Dev-Ops Engineers is an IT professional who collaborate with software developers, system operators and other IT staff members to manage code releases. They cross and merge the barriers that exist between software development, testing and operations teams and keep existing networks in mind as they design, plan and test.

Responsibilities: 

• Ability to perform the responsibilities and associated activities of the Front-End Developer. 
• Participate in the processes of strategic project-planning meetings to provide guidance and expertise on system options, risk, impact, and costs vs. benefits. 
• Collaborating with the both front/back-end developers and other team members to create and share operational requirements and development forecasts to allow for timely and accurate planning of projects. 
• Build automated deployments through the use of configuration management technology. 
• Deploy new modules and upgrades and complete fixes within the production environment. 
• Ability to perform routine application maintenance tasks. 
• Developing ideas for new programs, products, or features by monitoring industry developments and trends. 
• Participating in continuing education and training to remain current on best practices, learn new programming languages, and better assist other team members. 
• Developing product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations that meet customer needs. 

Minimum Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities

• Degree or a National Diploma in Computer Science or related field. 
• Alternatively, any SAQA NQF Level 6 IT relevant qualification. 
• Certification: AWS DevOps and AWS Developer 2- 3 year work experience.
• Hands-on lead experience on Web Applications development. 
• Hands-on lead experience on setting up development infrastructure with programming languages such as Java, PHP, Python, SQL or any latest and relevant. 
• Web based versioning control repository hosting service like BITBUCKET or other related services.
• SPA’s like Angular, Libraries such as JQuery, Cloud Computing like AWS and RESTful API''''s. 
• Databases such as PostgreSQL, NoSQL.
• Agile development framework such as SCRUM and management tool like JIRA. 
• Hands on experience in networking security, databases, and cloud systems. 
• Compliance with all the Front-End essential minimum requirements. 
• Good understanding of specific languages, such as Java, PHP, or Python, and operating systems. 
• Strong understanding of the web development cycle and programming techniques and tools. 
• Focus on efficiency and process improvement.
• Excellent project and time management skills. 
• Skilled in administrative and report writing. 
• Working knowledge on databases and their associated languages. 
• Excellent understanding of security principles and how they apply to E-Commerce applications.
