DevOps Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their team. This role is ideal for a technically strong Engineer with solid experience in CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, automation, and supporting software delivery across development, testing, and production environments. This opportunity is well-suited to someone passionate about building reliable, scalable, and automated delivery pipelines while ensuring high system availability, performance, and operational excellence.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using modern tooling and pipeline-as-code approaches
• Deploy, automate, and manage application releases across non-production and production environments
• Build and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep or similar)
• Implement and support containerised workloads across orchestration or serverless platforms
• Provide Level 2 technical support for operational and delivery-related issues
• Monitor systems and applications to ensure availability, performance, and capacity stability
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve recurring production incidents
• Develop automation scripts for deployment, reporting, and operational efficiency
• Support configuration management and environment consistency across systems
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to implement integrations and improvements
• Design and document operational procedures for system maintenance and troubleshooting
• Apply shift-left security principles in all deployment and automation practices

• A relevant BSc degree or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 4+ years’ experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or similar roles
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and release automation
• Solid experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools and practices
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, including core services (e.g. networking, compute, storage, identity, serverless, and API management)
• Experience with containerisation and deployment to Kubernetes or serverless environments
• Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, and observability tools
• Experience in system administration and supporting shared application environments
• Strong troubleshooting skills across availability, performance, and capacity issues
• Scripting ability (Python, Bash, PowerShell or similar)
• Development background in Java or .NET is advantageous

• Exposure to both AWS and Azure environments
• Experience with advanced CI/CD tools (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Bitbucket Pipelines, Azure DevOps, ArgoCD or similar)
• Experience with configuration management tools, such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Salt
• Experience with database scripting for deployments, extracts, or fixes
• Exposure to AI/ML platforms or MLOps tooling (e.g. MLflow, Kubernetes-based inference platforms, service meshes, or similar technologies)
