SUMMARY:
DevOps Engineer with Database knowledge required for a remote role.

POSITION INFO:

This company are growing quickly (stable industry, financial investment, new clients, lots of good stuff!) and are looking to add to the DevOps team with a database focused DevOps Engineer.

They are looking to re-develop and improve their award-winning platform (moving away from the monolithic and into microservices) and are working with a range of modern tech. As a plus, the modern tech stack offers an interesting and challenging learning environment that creates employees with skills and knowledge in cutting-edge tech.

As a SQL focussed DevOps Engineer, you''ll be joining a strong team. They have created a great product which is performing well but are keen to add an experienced member of the team to focus on the database side, which senior members of the team are picking up at the moment.

You''ll be someone who enjoys the collaborative process that goes along working practices such as DevOps and continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD). You''ll also be passionate about ensuring that the best tools and processes are being used, and happy to vocalise this - the team have set up a dedicated suggestion box for this, and genuinely follow through on trying out new ideas that can positively impact the business.

A large part of your role will be automating the development lifecycle in accordance with DevOps principles.

You will have most of the following skills/experience:

** AWS: Networking & Content Delivery / Management Tools / Compute & Storage
** Containerisation: Docker / Kubernetes (K8''s)
** API Gateways & Microservice Deployment
** Understanding of RDBMS and NoSQL
** Experience with query optimisation techniques

Location-wise, you will ideally be based locally to the Glasgow office, but there is an office in Manchester as well. Right now, everything is remote and going forward there is a real remote working culture. You need to be local enough to be able to be in the office a few days every couple of months when sprints are happening but full remote working out with this is fine.

The salary on offer is between £55,000 - £65,000. On top of this, the benefits on offer are 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), your birthday off, pension, and a discretionary bonus based on company performance.

This is a fast-moving company, who are dedicated to continually improving, and who genuinely encourage and listen to the ideas of their employees. If you have a thirst for knowledge and having influence in a company who work with household names, please do apply and/or get in touch with Mike at Cathcart Associates.
