DevOps Engineer (Jan 2022 start)

SUMMARY:
Responsible for deploying product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing system integrations that support eCommerce, Operations, Manufacturing and distribution needs.

POSITION INFO:

A solid background in software engineering is a requirement and a familiarity with cloud computing patterns, continuous deployment and continuous integration practices is a must.

Essential Qualification, Skills and Experience

• BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field (not essential)
• Experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role
• Proficient with git and git workflows
• Good knowledge of software design patterns
• Good knowledge of C#, Asp.Net Core, Windows Server Operating system, HyperV and SQL Server
• Working knowledge of databases crafting SQL statements and views as well as frameworks such as Entity Framework
• Working knowledge of REST API patterns, Microservices and JSON
• Good knowledge of event driven architectures
• Good knowledge of web security patterns such as JWT security tokens and OAUTH 2.0
• Experience in reporting dashboards such as Grafana
• Understanding of Elastic Search, Docker and InfluxDB
• Understanding of networks, internet protocols and how they are secured
• Problem-solving attitude
• Collaborative team spirit

Role Responsibilities

• Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure
• Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers
• Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
• Testing and examining code written by others and analysing results
• Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
• Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and ‘fixes’
• Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
• Planning out projects and being involved in project management decisions
