Developer

SUMMARY:
A well established Commercial Bank is looking for a Developer to join their team in Durban.

POSITION INFO:

Responsible for the development, deployment and support of systems within the Rental Finance environment, according to specifications and standards within the SDLC.

Duties: 

• Obtain technical knowledge related to the service orientated applications (Rental Suite - RS) environments
• Develop detailed technical specifications from functional descriptions for the RS environment
• Develop major enhancements for RS in the production environment according to the technical specifications.
• Develop new products against business requirements and high-level technical specifications
• Develop relational database systems and web interfaces
• Fix major and minor bugs for RS in the production environment
• Fix escalated bugs for existing RS in the production environment
• Perform unit and integration testing on existing environments and new developments
• Provide testing assistance to other developer(s) to ensure collaboration on 
• Update/amend test plans according to solution development to ensure coverage of all areas
• Provide implementation instructions for new development
• Provide support to the Development/QA/Production environment(s) wrt the integration between internal systems and applications and external service providers 
• Provide first-line support on RS according to stand-by roster
• Design and develop new products for specific projects
• Ensure that all codes are exposable via API so that others in the bank can call the services. 

Minimum Requirements: 

• BSc Degree
• Post Graduate Degree (Advantage) 
• IT systems development processes (SDLC)
• Application development
• Testing practices
• Knowledge of a range of languages but especially C#, JavaScript, SQL.
• Development methodologies
• Agile methodology
• Systems analysis and design
• Banking systems environment (Advantage)
