JOB SUMMARY:

One of South Africa's Banking Giants is looking for a Developer specializing in Documentum based solutions to join their team.


JOB DESCRIPTION:

Purpose Statement:
  • Responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of new and existing Bank applications according to specifications
  • Development, implementation, and maintenance of Documentum xCP based solutions
  • Investigation and resolution of production issues
  • Installation and upgrades of full Documentum stack
  • Documentum jobs/methods/server administration
Key Tasks & Accountabilities:
  • Develop detailed technical specifications from functional descriptions (design)
  • Develop systems from technical specifications as provided by Architects
  • Deliver development within agreed timelines
  • Perform unit testing from a pre-defined test plan
    • Update/amend test plans according to solution development to ensure coverage of all areas
    • Provide testing assistance to developer(s)
  • Provide implementation instructions for new development
  • Provide production support to production systems (stand-by)
  • Conduct investigations and solve system issues
  • Prepare production deployment packages
  • Ensure successful implementation
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to Programmers and Developers
  • Act as Team Leader for projects
  • Liaise with Business Analysts and Business Representatives
  • Responsible for proactive maintenance and ensuring application versions remain up to date
  • Participation and proactive problem-solving to meet team objectives
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Grade 12
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (degree / diploma) in IT (i.e. focused development course) with 5 years’ proven experience in software development
OR
  • Between 3- 5 years’ proven experience in software development
  • Previous experience in documents and records management
  • IT systems development processes (SDLC); Application development; Standards and governance; Agile development life cycle; Testing practices
Experience in the following development languages and concepts:
  • Documentum DQL; API and DFC knowledge
  • JBoss
  • Docker
  • MSSQL
  • Web Services - REST and SOAP
  • Java (optional)
  • OO Development Methodologies
  • SOA Design and Implementation
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
  • Java Platform
  • Integration with backend systems including: OpenText Documentum, Intelligent Capture, Info Archive, Exstream and xPression
  • Designing, developing, configuring, testing and debugging Documentum DFC based applications
  • Document Scanning, Classification, Validation and Data Extraction and Recognition

  • Must have detailed knowledge of:
    • IT systems development processes (SDLC)
    • Application development
    • Standards and governance
    • Testing practices
Ideal:
  • Knowledge of:
    • UML
    • Systems analysis and design
    • System architecture (technical design and implementation process)
    • Banking systems environment
