SUMMARY:

Digital Business Unit Manager required to join a proudly South African investment company focusing on Technology, Media, Telecommunications and Financial services.

The Digital Business Unit Manager is accountable for the overall commercial performance, business viability and growth of assigned marketplace properties.

Job Description:

Commercial management and business growth

  • Commercial management and business growth
  • Driving the commercial profitability and performance of the assigned property.
  • Develop plans that coincide with business targets, and oversee expenses and revenue to create financial returns and business growth.
  • Partner with various teams to ensure the operational and financial performance of the business unit.
  • Manage budgets, expenses and pricing and commercial arrangements.
  • Preparing models to assess future profitability of identified opportunities.
  • Use analytics to create action plans that are based off data and statistics, and interpret results against targets.
  • Attend networking events and build industry connections in order to facilitate business growth.

Stakeholder management

  • Drive internal Team alignment for overall commercial targets.
  • Work and partner with internal teams to agree on metrics and targets, as well as marketing approaches to drive profitability of the business unit.
  • Build relationships with clients to establish new contracts.

Supplier management

  • Source products and commercial arrangements.
  • Assume a lead role in advising around pricing for commercial contracts.
  • Ensures that suppliers deliver according to negotiated and agreed Service Level Agreements.
  • Resolve any issues that may arise that may impact on delivery of contractual agreements.
  • Ensure stakeholders adhere to, and understand, contractual obligations, and also determine when processes violate regulations.
  • Negotiate new projects and contract terms with new suppliers.

Brand strategy and positioning

  • Manage the brand strategy to drive brand equity.
  • Ensure implementation and management of content strategy, in line with SEO strategy to improve organic visibility.
  • Use analytics to create action plans that are based off data and statistics and interpret results against targets.
  • Oversee branding and marketing endeavours to ensure all efforts are aligned with business goals.

 

Requirements

  • Conceptual understanding of commercial pricing.
  • Significant experience with market research and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated experience liaising with clients and suppliers.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a similar industry.
  • More than 5 years’ prior experience in Business Development or Marketing fields.
