VACANCY: UNDERWRITER / CLAIMS CONSULTANT (FAIS COMPLIANT)
Location: Hillcrest, KwaZulu-Natal
A well-established insurance brokerage based in Hillcrest is seeking an experienced and professional Underwriter / Claims Consultant to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and process short-term insurance claims from inception to settlement
- Liaise with clients, insurers, assessors, and service providers
- Provide underwriting support across personal and commercial lines
- Prepare quotations, policy amendments, renewals, and endorsements
- Ensure compliance with FAIS and all relevant industry regulations
- Deliver exceptional client service and maintain strong client relationships
- Assist clients with policy queries, claims updates, and risk-related advice
- Maintain accurate records and documentation on all client files
Minimum Requirements:
- Fully FAIS Compliant
- Relevant insurance qualification advantageous
- Minimum 3 years' experience in underwriting and claims administration
- Strong knowledge of short-term insurance products and processes
- Experience working with insurance systems and insurer portals
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Strong administrative and organisational abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
